FIRST MEET - A TAMIL MATRIMONY COURTESY

Never did I know that this day will be the most memorable day in my life,

Geared up fully with excitement and anxiety I was ready for the most path taking day of my life..

It was early morning 3 o clock , me, my mom and Dad got ready to Chennai to meet the Love of my Life. I chose to wear a simple green & violet georgette sarree with some simple Jewellery. Due to some odd reasons , we did not go in Car that day , instead took the early morning ECR bus from Cuddalore to Chennai.We got down at the Vadapalani bus stop and refreshed in a hotel and walked to the temple after buying some Pooja stuffs and my favourite Gundu Malli..

Never did I know that this day will be the most deserving day in my life,
The first look will give me the sign that this bond is going to last for a lifetime..

Like every other Girl , I was super excited.My husband's brother was our point of contact , he has given every required detail that we would expect from a Groom.

I had never believed Love at First Sight until I met this person.We were waiting for the Groom to come and here he came ! There was already a positive vibe running through me and as he started talking to my Father.

Never did I know that this day will show me a different perspective of life,
A life that is totally different from the one that I am living now..

After a complete discussion and a detailed Questionnaire session from my Mother , I had my turn now. Well , What did I ask him.. I seriously don't remember but I spoke a bit about how family bonded I am and a little about my Career Orientation. He assured me that he will be able to give his fullest support for my Career.(He had maintained his Promise till date , even more than what he had promised me that day).

Never did I know that this person will be such a hardcore supporter of my Career..

To be frank , he did not ask me even one question. When I asked him why he did not ask me even a single question , later one day after marriage , be bluntly told , 'somehow I believed you are the right person for me..'

Never did I know that decisions that I take on this day,

Is Going to give a life that is worth a million love..

We were asked to have a walk around the temple, which is the time for us to know about each other before we take the life changing decision.

I asked 'What made you venture into Entrepreneurship' - exact sentence that I spoke.. He gave me some valid reasons. And few more conversations around our lives and we came back. My father asked us to walk for one more round but both of us were fine with this and said 'No , We are good'..

Never did I know that this First Meet is ,

A Stepping stone to create Precious Memories together..

As we walked out of the temple , I turned to see him once.. ! A Smile and a Wave..! We started back to native in bus. My father was about to drop a message to my husband's brother about our meet. I instantly told my Father that 'Its an YES from my side'..

Never did I know that when I said 'Yes',

We are going to build such a beautiful Life rich in Love and Laughter..

I did not know what made me say 'Yes' instantly. I did not wait for my parents comments , I did not wait for the Groom's family to reply back. I was certain that this person is going to be my SoulMate.

And now I realize Meeting you was not the First Day of Rest of my Life.. It was the First Day of Best of my Life..

When you meet someone special, you'll know. Your heart will beat more rapidly, and you'll smile for no reason..

What I had written on October 3 2015 in my Diary:

We met for the first time in ‘Vadapalani Murugan Temple , Chennai . It is a tradition from our side to meet the Groom in temple for the first time as a sign of Auspicious beginning. My father has given me some details about the Groom that he is into Entrepreneurship and a native of Namakkal(Tamil Nadu).

At the very first sight , I got an intuition that he is the best person for my life. We spoke for few minutes and instantly liked each other. Back home we had told an ‘Yes’ to both our families.

Every year this day , we use to visit the "same temple" and cherish the memories.

As a mark of celebration we go for a trip on this weekend every year :)

This year as we are in New Zealand , we have planned to go to a temple and a short refreshing trip to celebrate the decision that we took this day 5 years back..
