Defined Happiness

 Bags Packed  Winter trip of the year to Sikkim. The last 3 months were very hectic work wise for both of us. This trip was most needed to refresh and get back to the flow. We are not taking Amudhan with us for this trip due to climatic conditions and the hectic travel involved. Day 1:  We started around 3AM from home to chennai airport in Ola Cab. We had checked in the previous day and it was a comfortable flight from Chennai to Kolkata. The direct flight to sikkim that we booked was cancelled and we had to shift the booking to Chennai-Kolkata-Bagdogra in flight, Bagdogra-Gangtok in Cab. We had a 5 hour layover in Kolkata and we decided to explore a bit of 'The City of Joy'.  We walked out of the airport with our trolleys. We stopped a cab wala and enquired the rates and time to reach Park Street - the famous lanes of Kolkata.  I read this book named 'Peaks and Valleys' by 'Sponsor Johnson' recently and I enjoyed, realised and visualised every line of it. Making Good and Bad times work for you - At work and in life , is the essence of the book.  This trip took us through the routes that wa studded with very high peaks and deep valleys enroute.  I felt I need to map those quotations from the book with the views that I saw.. From the book's point of view, Peaks means success and valleys means failures.

It's trip time with favourite people. I badly wanted this trip to balance my emotions. :P It was a rugged 2 months ride for me. Come travel with me to ODISHA.    It was a last minute plan and we had booked 3rd AC train tickets for me, Amudhan, my husband, Ramya Akka(co sis), her kids Shri and Siddhu. Mama stays there at Bhubaneswar for work. Looking forward for a wholesome odissa trip. Trichy - Cuddalore - Chennai - Bhubaneswar  I joined at Cuddalore Ramya akka and kids who started from Trichy. Amudhan was pretty excited to see his cousins and immediately started running up and down the berths. Peppa Pig Train Journey episode is one of his favourites and he related every small detail of the train travel with the way he had imagined by seeing the cartoon.  Itenary of the Day: Viceroy Lodge Mall Road - Christchurch,The Ridge, Following from the previous day, we had bought dinner from a shop on the way which had steamed Rice,Egg Curry and Panneer gravy. Unfortunately the rice was only partially cooked and we managed to eat something that was avaialble and went to sleep. We had ordered food with our AirBnb host - Aloo parathas and poha. A good night's sleep followed by the yummy food, nothing more can be asked for a beautiful day to start. We had packed all our bags as this is the last day in this stayplace.

Itenary : 1. Jakhu Temple 2. Kufri Horse Ride 3. Himalayan National Park Full gears on to start the actual itenary of the trip. Grandpa and Grandma has taken full control and care of Amudhan. Me and Siva took the luxury to enjoy the trip to our own style. Morning , after a hot shower we started our day with some hot pooris and parathas from a shop on the way. Travelling with a toddler needs a bit of planning. Amudhan is a very co operative kid and we have been trippimg from his 6th month. To be precise , this is his 7th long trip. What's in my handbag ? Middle Zip - small simple pouch with lip balm, moisturizer(very very important for a winter trip), Vicks, Inhaler, Amrutanjan, Hand Sanitizer, Handwash.My specs case, a small umbrella, my gloves, a hand acupuncture, foldable bag.
