Dubai Trip 2024 Day 1

A trip to Dubai, the most sought after tourist destination. It's me, Amudhan and hubby this time, 7 day trip to Dubai and Abudabi.

Life was beautifully busy for the last 1.5 years with the little human inside and out. This is going to be a break from the routine wheel, breathe some fresh air to free up the  winds.

Usually we love planning the itenary from top to bottom all by ourselves after carefully going through options from official sites, travel bloggers, blogs and from people.

We explained how we usually plan itenaries for trip to Amudhan and involved him in every detail. We sit and write the places that are there, discuss if it will suit us, check for the rates in different sites and agency and map the timing and date against the activity according to the distance between the attractions.

"Food is the essence of travel" they say. We also try to roughly plan some dishes that we should try and also few restaurants that are must tries.

Day 1: Sep 24 2024

We made a very bulky shopping for the travel and packed our luggages. Appa dropped us at the airport in the morning at 6.30AM. One of my good friend told

'Eat Guilt Free and enjoy Dubai vibes'.

We started out guilt free eating from the airport itself. Grabbed a chicken burger and french fries from McD.

I am usually not a person who enjoys outside food but when it trip, it's mostly food from the outdoors. The discovery of new taste, new food gives us a complete feel.

We then boarded the flights. Initially we had a plan of taking Radhan also along but then dropped the plan and made him stay with amma and appa.

Amudhan was pretty excited for the air travel and this was his second time in flight. He gave us a very good company and it dint feel like we were travelling with a 7 year old kid.

We got the meal in the flight and tried to finish as much as we can.

Reached Dubai airport, my hubby's very best friend cum family well wisher who lives in Dubai for work came to pick us from airport. He took us to the stayplace - "Arabian Dreams" , affiliated hotel with Club Mahindra groups. It is located in a place called 'Bur Dubai'. We had booked a 2 bhk space for the 5 days stay in Dubai.

We refreshed ourselves and as we sat together for some chit chat, ordered some food from the online food delivery app 'Noon'. Veg Shawarma and Meat Shawarma to fill out tummies.

We then got ready and headed towards the Dubai Frame. We had already booked the tickets online and we can use that ticket to enter the frame anytime of the day.

Stop 1 : Dubai Frame

The Frame building is one of the architectural marvel and a extraordinary outcome of innovative minds. It serves as a metaphorical bridge between the past and present of Dubai.

Shaped like a frame, the concept was, if seen from one side, the frame would give you a picture of the Emirate’s past, and if seen from the other side, it would give you the best views of the lavish city’s present and a possible future as well.

Initially I was very sceptical whether we should book this attraction but after visiting I was totally in love with it. It stands so tall and elegant  in the middle of the busy hustling city. It's golden shimmering glass outdoors was glittering and beaming with pride. As we walk into the ground floor we get to see how Old Dubai was functioning with a neat traditional touch, a mock up of old styled market street.

A 50-second elevator ride quickly transported us from the past to the present. There is a transparent glass bridge where we get to see the ground, a spectacular view. As we walk, one side of the frame shows the old Dubai and the other side shows the new Dubai with skyscraping buildings.

Venu anna took some beautiful pics of us which are to be framed in memories forever.

Stop 2: Marina Dhow Cruise

Dubai is a city that never ceases to amaze. It also dazzles you with its lavish, modern architectural feats and magnificent city life, it also pleases you with its serene water inlets meandering through the city. Dubai Marina, the city's most modern hub, is built on the banks of an artificial canal that has become an important part of the city's identity.

Dhow cruise provides an exquisite experience while gliding on the tranquil waters of the Dubai Marina. A dhow cruise is one of the best ways to appreciate Dubai Marina's beauty.

Our booking for Dhow cruise with Rayna Tours got cancelled at the last minute and we had booked another cruise with our stay place's travel vendor. The name of the Dhow Cruise is Al Wasl. There are a lot of vendors who take us through the cruising experience and they were all looking exquisitely designed playing some vibrant songs to suit the mood.
Out cruise was not up to the mark when it came to food however we enjoyed a lot as the view itself has something very pleasing to offer.

A traditional wooden ship called a dhow has been sailing these waterways for hundreds of years and has become a symbol of the marine heritage of the Arabian people.

Our food was a buffet spread with multiple dishes, we just tested some of them and settled to enjoy the water beauty. Amudhan enjoyed the ride a lot and he continuosly appreciated the beauty that he was witnessing.

As evening approaches, the sights of illuminated shorelines encircling the canal waters add to the scenic beauty. The Dubai Dhow dinner cruise is the perfect way to spend a pleasant and memorable evening at Dubai Marina.

It was 11 PM at the night when the cruise was over, we took a cab from the Dubai Marina and that's the end of Day 1.

Day 2 to be continued..
